Artist Statement
The world and everything in it appears solid to us.
In our day to day lives, it is solid. In the world of art, the world of possibility, everything is not solid.
We live in both worlds.
My art is a bridge between these worlds, using elements from both. The lines flow from possibility onto the solid canvas. Negative spaces allow our ethereal bodies to the wander subtle realms, which co-exist with the familiar positive areas. The light shining from reflective surfaces travels from the subtle world back to the solid world of our day to day lives, bringing with it the opportunity of possibility.
There is a constant shifting of awareness between the seen and the unseen worlds.
We live in both worlds.
